Privacy
There's no account and I don't collect anything. Your logins, settings and time record stay on your phone.
Last updated 14 October 2026.
What stays on your phone
- Your settings: your filters, your limits, any changes waiting to kick in, and the starting point you enter when you first open the app. They're saved in the iPhone's keychain, which iOS usually keeps even after you delete the app, so reinstalling doesn't reset your limits. It's just your rules, not anything you did. Erasing the iPhone wipes them.
- Your record: when you had each site open, plus things like trying to open something hidden or asking for more time. It's used for the clock, your limit and your progress, and it's deleted with the app.
- Website data: each site's cookies and storage, including your logins, same as any browser. Log out through each site's own menu.
None of this gets sent to me. There's no Decaf server to send it to.
What Decaf connects to
Just the sites you open, and their own login pages. They see what they'd see in Safari, and their own privacy policies apply. Decaf doesn't connect to anything for itself. If that ever changes (say, to check for updates), this page will say so first.
What Decaf doesn't do
- No analytics, crash reporting, ads or tracking.
- No account, no sign-up, no email address.
- No location. Money comparisons use the minimum wage for your iPhone's region setting, and Decaf never asks where you are.
- Decaf only reads pages to work out what to hide. The only page details it passes to the app are the page's address and which filter hid something, and those stay on your phone.
Tips
Tips in the app go through Apple. Apple handles the payment, and I only find out that a tip went through, not who sent it. Tips on this website go through Ko-fi, under Ko-fi's own privacy policy.
This website
This site doesn't set cookies or run any analytics or scripts. It's hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, sees your IP address so it can send you the page.
Changes
If any of this changes, the new version goes here with a new date. Decaf will never start collecting your data.
Contact
Decaf's made by one person in the UK and has nothing to do with Meta, Instagram, Facebook, Google or YouTube. Questions? Email me at support@decafapp.net.
